Year 6 Home Learning
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all those families who have engaged so well with the home learning over the past months. Your hard work in the face of very challenging circumstances has been truly humbling and I am so grateful for all the support you have shown your children and the school.
I hope you have a wonderful summer break. I wish all the Year 6s the very best of luck and I look forward to seeing all the 2020 Hedgehogs in September.

Please start with the Home Learning document before exploring the other work - it will explain some of the changes I have made. I have tried to give alternatives for literacy and maths this week so there are more 'standard' maths and literacy activities, including a second, two-week Talk for Writing unit but I have added alternatives of more creative work if you fancy a change. Mrs Hall has added some French this week.
The Science investigation continues but I have left the whole Powerpoint so that some people can join in with the investigation if they haven't had time yet. There is a new Art activity and new Computing but history and DT are the same for this week.

Here is another week of suggestions for creative work.
The maths, spellings and literacy are separate files - please click on the links below. There are also links to Powerpoints to support learning in History, Science and Art and a link for the e-safety.
I am happy for you to email your child's spelling score via the Hedgehogs email and I'll update my records. (Don't forget - there is the Year 5/6 list that children can practise as well.) If you have any queries, please do email.

Home Learning Week Beginning 30th March
There is another week of suggestions for creative work. (I will be emailing the logins for the Charanga Music site during Monday.)
I have also uploaded the week's spellings - children to practise until ready for a test. Please test them by the end of the week. I am happy for you to email their score via the Hedgehogs email and I'll update my records. (Don't forget - there is the Year 5/6 list that children can practise as well.)
I have now produced a more formal set of daily maths lessons. I have started with the topic we were learning before the children stopped school. The learning is revised to help them remember what we were doing but there are new questions. The lessons have 3 parts - a warm up, a set of 3 questions (with an extension if children are confident) and a 'finisher', which is a way to consolidate or reflect on learning.
I have added representations of resources which may support your child with their learning. The lesson is designed to last about half an hour.
I will upload some further literacy during the week, once you have had a chance to have a look at this new learning.
Week beginning 30th March
Times Tables Rock Stars: Mrs Radhamma has set a tournament between Year 5 and Year 6. Ends 3pm Friday - see if you can beat the other year group!
