Activities Week 2010

While we were watching a DVD on the history of Cambridge, the film was interrupted by a message from outer space asking for our help. The plea for help came from an alien desperate to get the baby aliens to sleep. They had tried everything and nothing worked and they thought we might know what to do. We had a think and came up with the idea of nursery rhymes and fairy stories as ways to settle the babies down. We worked in teams to create retellings of several well-known stories and rhymes, using multi-media to record and broadcast into space. Click below to see the original plea for help.

Hockham Confidential

On the Wednesday of Activities Week, film-maker Matt Reeve came to work with the children to make a behind-the-scenes DVD of all the creative goings-on. He helped some Year 6 children to film all the children at work, carrying out interviews and recording fly-on-the-wall footage. All the camera-work and sound recording is the children's own work. Phew - what a relief!

At the end of term we had all our films, website entries and radio programmes ready for broadcast. We played them and sent them via satellite link into outer space. A short while later we received an email with a videa attachment - it was the aliens again saying that our advice had worked! Thank goodness that the awful wailing had stopped. Well done Teams!
